If you have set the account nickname in a language other than English (language not using Latin characters), make sure you have set the encoding/code page according to the Windows OS.

Since MT4 does not support Unicode, such errors may occur when used on Windows.

Please follow these instructions.

  • Open the Windows Control Panel.
  • Select your region (and language).
  • Select the “Management” tab.
  • Click the “Change system locale” button under Languages in the Non-Unicode Programs section.
  • Choose a locale.
  • Click OK.
